After almost 4 years of waiting, meal plans will finally be back on January 9, 2024! Two meal plans are available: the quick-service meal plan Disney (including 2 quick service meals per night) and the Disney meal plan (one quick service meal and one table service meal per night). For more details on these plans, please click here. This option, which many visitors have come to expect, may not be suitable for everyone. It’s important to consider the pros and cons in order to make an informed decision.
There are many to consider!
When you take out a meal plan, it’s easier to budget the cost of your meals on site in advance. With these meal plans, the majority of your food expenses will already be paid in advance, so you won’t have any nasty surprises. Whatever the price of the meal on the menu, the meal will have cost you the price of the plan.
Stay on site at Walt Disney World Resort allows you to enjoy the entire site and parks without worry, especially when it comes to transportation. The addition of meal plans is also a great advantage for site visitors. So you can leave with peace of mind, just like an all-inclusive. What’s more, you won’t have to deprive yourself in your choice of dishes or restaurants, all of which (with a few exceptions) will cost you the same.
Disney stipulates a 20% saving on total food costs with the purchase of a meal package for children aged 3 to 9. In fact, the calculation depends on the price of the meals you take. For example, a good meal plan investment is the character meal reservation, which sometimes costs almost the price of the full-day meal plan, especially for kids!
Since we must take the number of meals and snacks based on our number of nights, we sometimes have extra table service credits or snacks. This gives us the opportunity to take two table service credits to discover signature restaurants we wouldn’t have dared without a meal plan. The Walt Disney World Resort is brimming with incredible snack choices, especially during festivals at the theme park Epcot. The meal plan gives us the opportunity to try these snacks and research new ones for variety!
There are a few.
Children must order from the children’s menu. Some children under 10 have big appetites and would order from the adult menu. Also, some children’s menus are not to everyone’s taste. Don’t hesitate to ask your waiter for alternatives. Having an autistic child, it’s not unusual for me to ask for different meals. The staff are very attentive to our needs and will do everything they can to preserve the magic! Sometimes, just a dose of magic dust is all that’s needed to ensure that your children eat what they’re hungry for and what they like, without having to eat hots dogs or chicken croquettes all week long!
So I suggest you see if the plan is still advantageous for your family or not, because everyone sleeping in the same room must have the same package! Think about it!
By taking a meal plan, we end up eating big, tasty meals every day! So we feel like we’re always eating, even when we’re not really hungry. Especially in certain seasons, with Florida’s heat, eating good meals every day with table service can make us feel heavy. On the other hand, personally, my pleasure in visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is also a culinary pleasure. We have to reward those thousands of steps we take every day! Don’t you think?
To help you decide whether one of our meal packages is right for you, please contact us to reserve your package. We’ll give you all the information you need that you won’t find on the websites, and we’ll tailor your package to suit your family or your travel needs! That’s our vision of turnkey service!
