What I find really interesting about California is the possibility of combining the magic of Disney magic with a wide range of additional activities. Initially, my trip had no connection with DisneyI was simply planning an 11-day road trip from San Diego to San Francisco. However, it all took another direction during the preparations and that’s what I’m sharing with you in this article. What else did I do in more than one day? Disney?
My trip began in San Diego, where I was able to test my surfing skills with the locals. I can confirm that the water was definitely colder than in Barbados. I only stayed a day and then headed for Santa Monica. In this beautiful region, I spent a day at the beach, where I was able to cycle to Venice Beach via Muscle Beach. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see Arnold Schwarzenegger there, but I did see some youngsters doing some spectacular acrobatics at the nearby Skate Park. I stayed in Santa Monica for 6 days.
During this time, I was able to visit Beverly Hills, where I enjoyed a gigantic cake at the Cheesecake Factory. Then, to my great surprise, I came across an exhibition by my favorite artist Salvator Dali, where his works were on display all over the streets, as well as in an art gallery. What luck! Did you know that Walt Disney and Salvator Dali had worked together in the past? If you’re ever in Florida, I highly recommend a stay at Disney’s Coronado Spring Resort, where you’ll discover a decoration commemorating the exceptional work of these two icons of the imagination. Finally, I couldn’t resist taking a photo in front of the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel from the old Pretty Woman movie. Who hasn’t dreamed of visiting a place in the world just because of a popular film or series?
While staying in Santa Monica, I saved a day for Disneyland Park and a day for Universal Studios Hollywood. Quite simply, they were my best days ever. What I remember, however, is that one day at the Disneyland Resort wasn’t enough. I missed a day at Disney California Adventure Park.
To end this incredible adventure in this part of California, I climbed up to the Hollywood sign. The view was breathtaking, which is no easy feat after a long climb on foot in sweltering heat. Don’t forget your water bottle! On my return, I walked along the well-known Hollywood Boulevard to see the stars. I tried to look at them all, but there were so many that it was impossible. But I did find one in my grandfather’s name, Milton Sills! That’s a rare name. Was he famous? No, it wasn’t the same one.
It was in San Francisco County that I concluded this memorable trip. Starting with a visit to Alcatraz Federal Prison, where it was cold and damp. A captivating bit of history. And finally, during my last 2 days, I strolled along the famous Lombard Street to get to the Golden Gate Bridge which the photos don’t do justice to. In real life, it’s even more magnificent for a bridge fanatic like me.
This concludes my story, thank you for taking the time to read it. What I want you to remember is that not only can I help you plan a magical trip to Disneyland Resort California, but I also have the knowledge to organize the most wonderful adventure for every taste! I recommend adding the extras around your magical adventure, not the other way around, so you can make all the necessary reservations on time.
