Liste Incontournable pour une Croisière Disney Mémorable

Before setting off on an adventure at sea, it’s essential to prepare your trip properly. This comprehensive list will help you make sure you have everything you need to get the most out of your cruise. From practical items to fun accessories, we’ve rounded up the must-haves to make your cruising experience memorable and worry-free. Discover the essentials you need to pack for an unforgettable cruise.

Important documents to bring on a Disney cruise

Passports, Visas and Driving Licenses

Some destinations, such as Australia and New Zealand, require visas. Your consultant will be able to guide you through these procedures. If you wish to rent a vehicle for a day at dockside (for example, in Alaska to explore the Klondike Highway), don’t forget to bring your driver’s license with you.

Parental consent

Children traveling alone or accompanied by only one parent or legal guardian must have a letter of consent for each trip abroad. For a sample letter that can be adapted to your situation, visit: https: //voyage.gc.ca/voyager/enfant/lettre-de-consentement

Confirmation of boarding time

When you check in (30 days before departure), you will be able to choose a boarding time (subject to availability). You will then receive a confirmation e-mail and a bar code with your check-in time. I strongly suggest that you print out this page or save it on your phone and have it ready when you arrive at the port of embarkation. If you don’t have this confirmation with you, there’s a risk that your boarding will be delayed until the end of the day.

Travel insurance

Travel with peace of mind! What better way to relax and explore new destinations? You’ve probably paid a fair amount for your place on the ship, your flights and other bookings. Trip cancellation, interruption and other travel insurance coverages are a smart way to protect yourself financially against the unexpected. Make sure you have the documents confirming your subscription, as well as the numbers to contact in all circumstances.

Medical prescriptions

Some medicines require medical proof at all times. In the event of a health problem on board, the ship’s doctor and his medical staff will need a complete list of your medications. Ask your pharmacist to print out a complete and up-to-date list just before departure.

Medical certificate

If you are pregnant, a certificate attesting to the age of the pregnancy will be required. Senses Spa & Salon. No cruises are allowed from the first day of your 24th week.

Travel accessories not to forget

Gourd or water bottle (refillable)

The water on the boat is drinkable. However, personally, I find the water from the room taps a little warm. Instead of buying disposable water bottles to use on the ship or on your excursions, water bottles or refillable water bottles are much more economical and environmentally friendly. You can fill them with fresh water at any time of day from the outdoor fountains in the buffet on your ship.

Necklace with badge holder

The cards giving access to your room will be placed on a hook outside your room when it is ready (around 3.30pm) on the day of your embarkation. If you don’t have a MagicBand +, or if this option is not available on your ship, a card holder is recommended to avoid losing them. You’ll also be asked for them when making purchases or boarding/disembarking, during stopovers and on your final departure. On my last cruise, I received a cardholder as a Silver Casteway Cay member (from 2 cruises on Disney Cruise Line). You can also buy beautiful ones in the ship’s boutique.

Luggage identification tag (to be deposited on arrival)

When you arrive at the port of embarkation, you can leave your luggage with the attendants. They will be brought directly to your cabin later in the day or early evening. You may decide to drag your luggage with you until your cabin is available (approx. 3:30 p.m.), but I don’t recommend this if you want to explore the ship unencumbered. You should therefore keep everything you might need in the hours following your embarkation, as well as your valuable personal belongings, close at hand. Before leaving home for your Disney cruise, you’ll need to prepare your luggage accordingly, and affix labels previously sent to your home address in the mail. If you didn’t receive them, prepare standard label holders.

Backpack / fanny pack

A comfortable backpack or fanny pack (at the hips) allows you to carry everything you need for your excursions in the countries you visit, leaving your hands free to catch your coconuts exploring the environment or taking photos of the breathtaking scenery! Beach towels are provided at the boat’s exit for your beach days. You’ll need a bag to carry everything!

A pair of binoculars

Bringing a pair of binoculars on your cruise can be extremely useful for a number of reasons. First of all, they’ll let you admire the spectacular seascapes, observe the marine wildlife and birds flying over the ocean, and make the most of the view from the deck of the ship. What’s more, when cruising to destinations such as Alaska or Norway, binoculars offer an even more immersive experience, allowing you to explore the details of the surrounding fjords, glaciers and mountains. They’re also ideal for activities such as whale or bird watching, giving you the chance to capture unforgettable moments.

Umbrella stroller

To avoid always having the baby or young toddler in your arms when moving around on the boat, a stroller is very practical. I also recommend an umbrella stroller rather than a normal stroller, because when the elevators are full and you only have one or two floors to go up or down, you can always take the stroller in your arms to take the stairs.

Equipment for freediving

Bringing your own mask, snorkel and fins on your cruise can be a wise decision for snorkeling and underwater discovery enthusiasts. Firstly, it ensures that you have equipment that fits you perfectly, contributing to a more comfortable and enjoyable snorkeling experience. What’s more, many cruising destinations offer unforgettable snorkeling opportunities, including coral reefs, shipwrecks and a variety of colorful marine life. Having your own equipment allows you to dive to your heart’s content, explore at your own pace and capture incredible memories, including on Disney’s private Castaway Cay. Of course, you can also rent equipment on site.

What to wear on a Disney Cruise Line cruise

Swimsuits and beachwear

Bringing a swimsuit and beachwear is essential on a cruise, as it allows you to take full advantage of all the water activities and relaxation facilities on board. Swimming pools, whirlpools, water adventures or attractions (AquaMouse or AquaDuck) and beaches are likely to be on the menu of your cruise! Perhaps you’ll also enjoy an incredible Spa on board (Senses Spa & Salon). To be honest, it’s a good idea to take several with you, as they probably won’t have time to dry!

Dressy or chic

All Disney Cruise Line cruises include a glamorous evening for guests. So why not dress up in your 36s and head out for dinner! You can also take advantage of the opportunity to take some nice family or couple photos at the table or during photo sessions in the atrium. If you’re booking an adult-only restaurant, you’ll have to follow a dress code (see your travel consultant for more information). So pack accordingly!

Disguise or accessory according to cruise theme (Halloween, Marvel or other)

If applicable, some cruises offer themes such as Halloween, Christmas, Marvel or Pixar. On these cruises, one day/evening will be devoted to the theme, and you’ll be invited to dress up or wear accessories related to the theme. Costumes for young and old alike are an integral part of an incredible experience, and undoubtedly a memorable one!

Pair of socks for inflatable games (on board Disney Wish)

It’s essential to bring a pair of socks for children wishing to take part in the inflatable games on board a cruise. Socks provide extra protection for children’s feet, while ensuring the hygiene of the inflatables. They prevent direct contact of the feet with the play surface, helping to maintain a clean and comfortable environment. What’s more, socks provide extra grip, enabling children to jump, climb and play in complete safety, reducing the risk of slips or falls.
No socks = no inflatables…

Personal care items

Toiletry bag

Although Disney Cruise Line provides body soap, shampoo and conditioner in the cabins, it’s always a good idea to bring your own toiletries on a cruise. This allows you to have your favorite toiletries close at hand, including specific brands or types you prefer. It’s a good idea to take along your essentials such as toothbrush, toothpaste, razor and other basic toiletries.

Medicines

When cruising, especially with young children, it’s essential to take along a first-aid kit containing age-appropriate medication. This should include painkillers for fever or minor aches, seasickness medication specially formulated for children, and antihistamines for allergies. Consult a health professional before departure to make sure you have all the medication you need. Keep this kit handy for any medical emergencies that may arise during your family cruise. Of course, remember to bring your prescription medication for the duration of your cruise + 10 days in case of unforeseen circumstances!

Medical services are available on board for a fee.

Sun cream

Sunscreen is crucial when cruising, whether you’re heading for the Bahamas or Alaska. The sun’s rays can be powerful, and even in colder destinations like Alaska, the reflection of light on the water can be treacherous!
Whatever your destination, sunscreen is an essential element in preserving your health and comfort during your cruise, and it’s one of the essentials you need to take with you.

Anti-nausea bracelet (for motion sickness)

For people who get motion sickness easily (which is my case!!!), last October I tried anti-nausea bracelets with a button that presses on the inside of the wrist. These bracelets greatly reduced, if not totally eliminated my nausea, even when we were on the high seas. I wore them day and night when the ship was on the move. I’d had some pretty uncomfortable nausea on my first cruise. I highly recommend them!

Laundry soap

Washers and dryers are available on each deck if you need them. To avoid buying small quantities at big prices, bring your laundry soap and dryer wipes!
