From the magical mountains of Colombia to the bustling streets of New York, Disney Cruise Line guests can now discover the colorful worlds of two fan-favorite Disney films for the first time on the high seas!
After three weeks in dry dock in Freeport, Bahamas, we’re inaugurating on board the Disney Magic our first-ever Walt Disney Animation Studios “Encanto”-themed entertainment experience and a brand-new lounge inspired by Disney and Pixar’s “Soul”, as well as other exciting upgrades.
Passengers can join the fantastic Madrigal family in an all-new immersive experience, “An Encanto Celebration”, designed to engage families through music, crafts and storytelling. This interactive experience gives guests the chance to meet Mirabel and Bruno, the family member we don’t talk about, and take photos with them as they make their debut on the Disney Cruise Line.
Families can also sing along to beloved songs from “Encanto” and create butterflies and flowers inspired by the film. And during the show, guests can sample the flavors of South America with a selection of Colombian beers, cocktails and sodas, as well as mocktails inspired by the film.
The heartfelt story of “Soul” inspired the all-new Soul Cat Lounge, designed to resemble Joe Gardner’s favorite music venue in the film, the Half Note Lounge. The space, located on deck three near Rapunzel’s Royal Table restaurant, instantly transports guests to a classic New York jazz club, with decorative details such as brick walls, wood accents and plenty of rich leather seating around a stage for live music, so guests can grab their partner and head to the dance floor for a good swinging time every night.
The Soul Cat Lounge features custom artwork by Pixarwith nods to the film, including record labels, concert posters and portraits of jazz legend Dorothea Williams and her band. Soul-inspired details are subtly arranged throughout the design, including record players, instruments and Joe’s hat.
Adults can enhance their big-city experience with manhattans and martinis served tableside, or choose from a selection of local brews and cocktails crafted from New York spirits. A fun collection of mocktails, specialty coffees and sodas are also on the menu. In addition to the new beverage options, guests can sample Little Italy by ordering zeppoles, a classic Italian pastry similar to a fried doughnut, while enjoying live music.
For those seeking the ultimate in comfort and service at sea, the concierge spaces aboard the Disney Magic have been enhanced and improved. The concierge lounge has been redesigned and expanded to feature a sophisticated new theme and tropical color palette inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana”, as well as an additional covered outdoor space on Deck 10 where guests can relax with a refreshing beverage while enjoying the ocean breeze. All concierge suites, including the one- and two-bedroom suites and the two king suites, have been completely renovated with new fittings, furnishings and elegant artwork, further enhancing the concierge guest experience.
Shore power technology has also been installed as part of the ship’s dry-docking project, continuing Disney Cruise Line’s long-standing commitment to minimizing its impact on the environment. When available in port, this technology will allow the Disney Magic to plug into the port’s power grid, reducing the ship’s emissions.
The Disney Magic is currently sailing the first of three itineraries from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Starting on May 24, the ship will return to Miami for a summer of Bahamas and Caribbean cruises, including the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” celebration in honor of Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary. In autumn, the Disney Magic will head west for its inaugural season from San Diego.
It’s official: Disney Magic is even more magical!
